Volunteers Needed
Every year from the regular season to the Baseball and Softball World Series, Little League relies on volunteers to ensure that every player has best experience possible. Last year over 1 million volunteers donated their time to Little League. Every year NWLLL is looking for coaches at every level, umpires, concession workers, team parents, and scorekeepers. Each year we have a clinic for anyone interested in umpiring. A date for that clinic has not been set.
There's nothing better than being a part of your child's baseball or softball team whether as a manager, coach, or team parent. This year we have invited Simply The Best Sports to come in and provide a clinic for our managers and coaches. Simply The Best Sports has worked closely with past Little League World Series Champions Warner Robbins, GA and
The clinic will be held on February 27. Simply The Best Sports website is: http://www.simplythebestbaseball.com/.
League Structure
T-ball: 5-6 year olds
Competitive Coach Pitch: 7-8 year olds
Minor Baseball: 7-11 year olds
Major Baseball: 9-12 year olds
Minor Softball: 7-11 year olds
Major Softball: 9-12 year olds
Player Evaluations
To be drafted to a player pitch team, players must go through the evaluation process. This year, we are including 7 and 8 year olds in this process. It's our hope that by including 7 and 8 year olds we can identify early on those players that will benefit from the competition at the player pitch levels which can only improve their skill levels as they move through the league structure. Players will be evaluated on several skills including hitting, throwing, fielding, and pitching. Players currently on a majors roster do not have to be evaluated.
7 and 8 year olds will be evaluated separately from the 9-12 years olds.
**Please be sure to sign up for an evaluation date and time at registration**
Team Assignments
At the player pitch levels, players are drafted to a team by the manager. Players already on a majors roster from the previous season do not have to be evaluated as they return to their team.
Players do not automatically return to their minor league teams from previous seasons. Thay are evaluated each Spring with the goal of being drafted to major league division.
7 and 8 year olds will only be eligible for minor league baseball and softball teams. Any 7 or 8 year old not drafted to a minor league team will be assigned to a Competitive Coach Pitch team. These games will be played on the big fields. By Little League rule, 12 year olds will be drafted to a major league team unless a waiver to remain in minors is requested by the parents. Players are assigned to T-ball teams randomly. Concessions can be made for ride shares, etc. at the T-ball level. Siblings will be placed on the same team at all levels.
All-Stars
NWLLL All-Star teams are selected by a vote of the players, managers, coaches and umpires. Near the end of regular season, every player will be given a ballot of players eligible for All-Stars. Eligibility is determined by league age, residency and number of games in which the player participated. By Little League rule, only those players league age 9 to12 that reside in the boundaries of NWLLL will be eligible for All-Stars. Regardless of which division they played in durubg the regular season. A NWLLL boundary map is available at our website
